India is the second most populated country in the world after China and majority of Indian population is youth. According to the demographics report from the Government of India, India has more than 50% of its population below the age of 25 and more than 65% below the age of 35. It is expected that in 2020, the average age of an Indian will be 29 years, compared to 37 for China and 48 for Japan. Going by this report India is a powerhouse for providing man force to rest of the world and Indian are already doing well in many countries Technical and other jobs. India is also known outsourcing jobs as cheap labor is easily available in India. Many multinational companies operating from United States of America, Canada, United Kingdom and other European countries outsource their work to India as it helps them to reduce their cost of production. Also in case of Western Countries the labor laws in these countries are so tough that hiring an employee and asking him to provide a 24*7 support becomes impossible. Going by the payroll of United states a tele-caller is entitled to get $ 13-14 per hour and in a day it amounts to nearly $104 in a day. If the same amount is added up for a month it would be around $3120. But if the same work is outsourced in India then an average Indian company can do the same work in merely $175-200. Also it is to be noted here that India is the second largest English speaking country in the world and Indian can provide telephonic support in both American and British accent.
The above paragraph provides a basic idea why outsourcing a job in India is economically favorable. Now lets discuss the quality of work provided by the companies operating in India. The Information technology in India is an industry consisting of two major components: IT services and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO). The sector has increased its contribution to India’s GDP from 1.2% in 1998 to 7.5% in 2012. According to NASSCOM, the sector aggregated revenues of US$147 billion in 2015, where export revenue stood at US$99 billion and domestic at US$48 billion, growing by over 13%. Bangalore is known as the Outsourcing hub in the world and you can find the offices of almost all the Top-Level Multinational Companies of the world. India on an average produces 1.5 million engineering graduates every year out of which nearly 30 percent are able to secure jobs in top level MNC’s and rest are forced to work in BPO sectors and other outsourcing Industries. These graduates study a course comprised of four years in which computers is an essential subject. Going by the data India has a huge pool for providing man power to almost all the companies in the world and the resources are technically sounded and not a one to be trained about basic computer functioning.
One industry which has boomed so much in the era of outsourcing is the Data Entry Jobs. The data entry service comprises of converting and processing data from one format to another, uploading these data to the specific tool and providing processed data to the client. There are many software available in the market that makes the job of data entry easier. All one need is a skilled resource who can operate these software and do necessary modification as required by the client. As I have already mentioned that in India these type of skilled professional are easily available most foreign clients outsource their data entry services in India. These companies operating form India has built a customer base on the basis of quality work provided by them and some of them have an annual revenue of more then million US Dollar. Also these companies don’t want their client base to get eroded and therefore form time to time they provide offers to their clients and on renewal of yearly contracts they provide cheap trips to India. The Data Entry field is a wide field and it comprises of many sub-divisional services. For example data entry goes along with data processing and data capture services. Not only this there are many types of data entry like sometimes client want online data entry and sometimes they explicitly mentions offline data entry.
There are many type of data entry like PDF data entry, database data entry insurance data entry etc. Every specific category requires a skilled person to execute the job and if the same in done in a western country then it cost them a lot of money. Therefore these companies simply outsource their work load in India on cheapest rate and and get a quality work which is difficult to achieve in their own country. Apart form Bangalore, there are many small companies flourishing in Delhi, Lucknow, Chennai, Hyderabad and other metro cities of India. Many companies have doubt that if they outsource their data entry work in India then they may not get the quality work of sometimes they fear the data security. But it is to be noted that most of the companies involved in the data entry operation takes uttermost care when it comes to the data security. No one wants to play with the important data and data is usually accessed via a VPN.
Recently the Indian Government under Narendra Modi has initiated “Make In India” which promotes companies to make their products in India and Indian Government would provide necessary facilities to these companies to establish their manufacturing unit in India. Though make in India is not directly related to the Data Entry Outsourcing Job but it can’t be ruled out that the Make In India won’t affect the outsourcing sector of India. The bottom line is India has huge potential for outsourcing industry and and it can provide huge and cheap manpower depending upon the requirement. Therefore one should get confused or scared about their data security and privacy and they can easily outsource their work in India.
